Breeding Registered Polled Hereford Cattle Since 1976
Claxton Farm located in Weaverville near Asheville, NC, has been breeding registered Polled Hereford cattle since 1976 for purebred and commercial cattle operations. Our goals have adjusted to changes in the market place over time. Currently, we are emphasizing docile moderately sized mature cows that calve easily and milk well while maintaining exceptional growth potential. We utilize EPDs (Expected Progeny Differences) data from the American Hereford Association in choosing our herd bulls and AI semen. We follow the guidelines for the humane treatment of cattle promoted by the North Carolina Beef Quality Assurance Certification Program.
